Tonight we have yet another UFC event on a Sunday on free TV. I’ve got to say I like these Sunday night cards. Most people are at home anyways and you don’t have to feel like you’re sacrificing a night out to stay home and watch the fights.
Tonight’s card has Donald Cerrone–returning soon after being defeated by Rafael dos Anjos–taking on the other “Cowboy” in the UFC, Alex Oliveira. Cody Garbrandt will fight Augusto Mendes, Dennis Bermudez will take on Tatsuya Kawajiri in which is sure to be the second-best fight of the night, Chris Camozzi will fight Joe “Diesel” Riggs, and the lone women’s fight on the card has Ashlee Evans-Smith fighting Marion Reneau.
How to Watch the Televised Prelims and Main Card with Fight Pass
Both the televised prelims and the main card are airing on Fox Sports 1, which means for us cable cutters, the event is likely blacked out from our Fight Pass accounts. This is because the UFC has television deals around the world which prevents the company from live streaming its own fights to Fight Pass subscribers UNLESS they live in a country where there is no television deal in place.
That’s where a service like Unlocator can help.
Unlocator is a DNS service that makes it looks like you’re somewhere else so you can access content that’s otherwise inaccessible. These services have been around for years and are widely used by people outside of the United States to access services like American Netflix, Hulu, and Sling TV.
Unlocator works for Fight Pass subscribers by letting us live stream televised events in our Fight Pass accounts. This is achieved by making it look like we’re living a country where there is no television deal in place. So, while you would typically be greeted with a “blacked out” message in your Fight Pass account if you tried to live stream tonight’s event, you will instead be allowed to live stream everything.
Unlocator is available with a seven-day free trial so you can test out the service for yourself before committing to a subscription, but I think you’ll like it. I just finished my year-long subscription and renewed for another year, but you can choose a month-to-month subscription or a six-month sub if that’s what you prefer.
I love Unlocator and it’s indispensable if you’re a Fight Pass subscriber and a cable cutter as well.
Make the Event More Fun with DraftKings
Have you ever wanted to bet on fights but were discouraged from doing so because you didn’t know how to do it or were confused by things like parlays and odds? If so, DraftKings is perfect for you.
DraftKings isn’t betting exactly, but more like a contest. You start with a bank roll and choose the fighters who you think will win. You rack up points based on how well you do, and when the fights are done, the points are tallied and you can win money based on how well you do.
With my special link, you can enter tonight’s MMA $25K Haymaker contest for free and have the $3 entry fee waived. You must be new to DraftKings in order to take advantage of the free entry.
