I kind of like having these UFC Fight Nights to break up the monotony of the week, and tonight it’s UFC Fight Night 29: Maia vs. Shields!
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that if you hate when guys go to the ground, you might want to skip the main event which features Demian Maia against Jake Shields, though if you can appreciate talented BJJ guys doing work on the ground, it should be a good match.
The rest of the card features a bunch of Brazilian guys who you may not have heard of, though names like Erick Silva, Rousimar Palhares and Thiago Silva should be recognizable, as should be the names of UFC vets Dong Hyun “Stun Gun” Kim, Matt “The Hammer” Hammil and Team Alpha Male member TJ Dillashaw.
If I had to choose Fight of the Night already, I’d have to say Fabio Maldonado vs. Joey Beltran. These guys WILL stand in the middle of the Octogon and punch each other until one goes down. Fabio is notorious for not going down, so I’m going to say he takes this fight by TKO.
Enough about the fights though. By this point, you’re probably wondering how to live stream UFC Fight Night 29: Maia vs. Shields without traditional cable or satellite television? If you’re a cable cutter like me, these are your options:
Whether you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, you can download the UFC.tv app to your device and then stream it to your Apple TV via Airplay to watch it on your TV.
If you have a Roku, you can download the UFC.tv app which links to your account on the UFC.tv website and will allow you to stream events on your Roku.
Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-Ray Players
Go to Samsung’s version of the App store if your hardware supports it and you’ll find a UFC.tv app which, like the Roku, can connect to your UFC.tv account and stream the fights to your television.
If you have a laptop to connect to your TV for a few hours, or if you want to sit in front of your computer to watch the fights, you can stream them via the UFC’s YouTube account.
If you have an Xbox Live Gold account, you can download the UFC app and watch live events directly from your Xbox 360.
